San Diego Pedicabs is a locally owned pedicab company in downtown San Diego, founded in 2005 by Ali Horuz. Today it runs 130 city-permitted pedicabs in San Diego, part of a fleet of 1,000+ nationwide. It all grew out of one rider, one cab, and a simple realization: the ride could be more than a way to get there.

In 2003, Ali Horuz was a young man from Turkey with almost no English, pedaling visitors around the Gaslamp.
The job put him in constant conversation with the city. He learned every street, every shortcut, and the small details that turn a basic transfer into a ride people talk about later.
In 2005, he opened his own pedicab business. The idea was not to make the experience feel bigger or more corporate. It was to make it more reliable, more personal, and more rooted in downtown.
Today, the company operates 130 city-permitted cabs. Ali’s original measure still applies: know the city, treat people well, and make even a ten-minute ride feel like time well spent.
